Announcing OrCAD 16.6—A One-Two Punch for Mainstream PCB Engineers
2013.02.18 17:08
The latest PCB design solution from Cadence, OrCAD 16.6, offers new features, enhanced customization capabilities, and significant performance improvements to help customers achieve a shorter, more predictable path to product creation. A key feature of the 16.6 release is a new signal integrity flow starting from schematic entry. The flow introduces a higher level of automation to increase ease-of-use and electrical engineering productivity, especially during circuit simulation high-speed digital circuits.
Comprehensive and exhaustive circuit simulation for analog/mixed-signal designs can consume an excessive amount of time and compute resources. Coupled with simulation convergence issues, these challenges lead to schedule delays. Enhancements to PSpice technology in OrCAD 16.6—namely multi-core simulation support—deliver major convergence improvements and an average 20% gain in simulation speed for even the largest designs and designs dominated by complex models.
